Your profile photo is not just a social-media image; it is often the first visual signal a publisher sees when reviewing your profile.

1. Use a current photo

Choose an image that represents how you look today. An old photo may make your profile less accurate even if it is visually strong.

2. Keep your face clear

Use good lighting and a simple background when possible. Avoid strong shadows or crops that hide a large part of your face.

3. Avoid filters that change your appearance

Light color or exposure correction is fine, but changing facial features, skin appearance or proportions makes the image less useful for casting.

4. Do not let accessories hide you

Dark sunglasses, large hats or heavy effects may work in additional portfolio photos, but they are not ideal for the main profile image.

5. Separate your profile image from your portfolio style

The main image should identify you quickly. Your portfolio can show more variety in styling, looks and previous work.

The clearer and more truthful the image, the faster a project can assess whether you may fit the brief.
