A call sheet is the document used to organize a shoot day. It helps crew and talent know where to be, when to arrive and what is expected.
What does a call sheet usually include? It may include call time, location, contact details, scenes or schedule, wardrobe or makeup notes and other day-specific instructions.
Pay attention to call time Your call time is not necessarily the time your scene starts. You may need to arrive earlier for preparation, wardrobe or makeup.
Check the location before leaving Review the location, parking or meeting point if provided, and plan for realistic travel time.
Bring only what is requested If alternate clothing, identification or specific items are requested, prepare them in advance.
Ask when something conflicts If a detail is unclear or differs from an earlier agreement, contact the production person listed on the sheet.
Bottom line Reading the call sheet carefully the night before can prevent a lot of confusion on shoot morning.
